Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) focused on the State of the Meetings Industry and post-Covid experiences. The afternoon also showcased seven industry associations in Minnesota:
MPI MN, The Northern Lights Chapter of SGMP, SITE MN, TCWEP, ILEA MSP, NACE MN, and HSMAI.
Over 60 attendees gathered at Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast.
An overview of the afternoon can be summarized with three R's:
Relationships
People are at the center of what we do, and our associations have a mission of connecting people. Our organizations can only be as strong as our leadership, and collaboration in our community is integral.
Recruiting
Our industry is in a state of rebuilding, and that includes our workforce. We need to create awareness of the event industry for college students and emerging professionals, and welcome back those who may have left their position during the pandemic.
Resiliency
A culture of support has shown that our industry is resilient and strong. We need to continue to offer professional education, networking, and celebrate the talent we have in our local events community.
